Jon Pulse received a BFA in photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Although his studies were in photography, Jon works in a variety of mediums such as painting, textile manipulation, and site specific installation.
Being a non traditional femme AMAB (assigned male at birth), Pulse has received negative feedback from society with the way he presents himself to the world. Through Pulse’s work he conveys his flamboyant nature that he has been taught to repress since an early age. Over embellishment in his work with beads, sparkle, and bold choices of color express the pure joy and pride he has for being a visibly queer person in the south.
